The mission of the Sexpower foundation is to bring people closer together by pointing out their similarities instead of the differences. Empowerment and self-acceptance should be achievable for everyone. Unfortunately, this is not always as obvious as it should be. Often people are afraid of what they don’t know. This regularly creates an “us” against “them” feeling. This is certainly the case with regard to sexual preferences and orientation.
Our mission is to connect people by providing information, sharing knowledge and organizing and / or supporting events. The goal is to show people that we can accept each other as we are, even when we sometimes have a different experience, belief or vision. At the Sexpower foundation we like to focus on sexual stigmas. It is difficult to talk about this and we think there is a lot of room for improvement here. Happy people are better for each other!

Sexpower Foundation has decided to weaken the administration duty and all the additional extra costs that only bureaucracy serves.
Think, for example, about insurance, administration time, costs and organization. There is bizarre discrimination in this industry when it comes to getting simple things like a bank account.
We decided to fight this with collaboration. We joined forces with Seksworks. Their mission touches our pursuit of sexual freedom. This combined with the Brabant mentality makes us decide to be stronger together.
Stichting Klankbordgroep Seksworks stands for the empowerment of sex workers.
Sekswork is a sounding board group set up by sex workers in collaboration with the municipality of Tilburg. We are an enthusiastic group of (former) sex workers from Zeeland, Brabant and Limburg who stand for a better position for all sex workers.
After all, human rights apply to ALL people.

Say no to the WRS
Right now, the legislative proposal Sex Work Regulation act is in consultation. That means the government is asking the people what they think of this law. So for sex workers and allies, this is the time to speak out against these laws.
Research impact of corona on sex work – second measurement
What was the impact of covid-19 and the covid-19 measures on the safety of sex work in the Netherlands? Answers to this question can be found in the report and 2-pager of the second measurement of the study. The second measurement focused mainly on the safety and perceived violence of sex workers during this period.
Thesis: Harmed and made vulnerable
We had the pleasure to help Julia Nürnberger with the research for her thesis. She explored the experience of sex workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, which acted as a magnifying glass on their situation. Julia particularly writes about them in comparison to the precarity theory, Precarity describes an existence that lacks in predictability, job security, material or psychological welfare.
Sex Work & Policy in the Netherlands
In this dissertation by Celine Soeter, interviews were held with various interest groups for sex work in the Netherlands. The aim is to find out to what extent these organizations agree with the current sex work policy, the proposed Sex Work Regulation Act (Wrs), and what their role is in the policy-making process.
