The Sexpower Foundation has been working in secret, but over a year ago we signed a declaration of participation for the tender procedure for the Zandpad in Utrecht.

There were 5 parties who had done the same. We were very happy when we remained, after dropping three other contenders, as the highest scoring party. We were even awarded 1000 points more than our opponents.

In the meantime, the second tender phase has been completed and the other party, which was still in the running with us, has been chosen to proceed.
No worries. We have learned so much from this process. As founders of the Sexpower Foundation, we had been with this plan for some time. We were already talking with other municipalities before Utrecht came in the picture. If we now think about what we have done during these eighteen months, We are so happy how it turned out. “The more you learn, the more you realize how little you know ” is often said. This is exactly how we experienced this. The whole tender forced us to think about every detail. Things we hadn’t even thought about.

What we feel when “losing” this chance is not grief or disappointment. It is the much needed warming up that we as a foundation need to make non profit brothels a success in the Netherlands.

We hope this will be the start of a lot of change in The Netherlands.
